Charice will be in Glee, and this time, it's really happening.
It was earlier reported that the Filipino singing sensation, who first gained international recognition via tv guestings in The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Oprah, would be in Glee by her local manager, Grace Mendoza. But this was soon dispelled as a rumor when Charice posted on Twitter, "I am not going to be on Glee. That's really funny!"
But a recent post in her Twitter account has confirmed that indeed, Charice will be joining the Emmy Award-winning musical series. "It's official, I'm on Glee (next season). I tried to audition!!! And I made it. Let's party!!!"
According to Entertainment Weekly, Charice will play the role of an exchange student whose singing prowess will cause problems for the competitive lead singer of New Directions show choir, Rachel Berry, played by Lea Michelle.
Of course, Filipinos around the the world are rejoicing over this new feather in the International Pop Star's cap. In her Facebook page, fans are cheering for Charice, patting her back for this well-deserved opportunity. "Galing talaga ng Pinoy," a fan wrote.
However, there are critics who opined that Charice may be an undoubtedly good singer, but they would have to wait and see if she has acting chops. "I wonder if she can act," one netizen posted. Another wrote, "[I am] cautious of her acting ability."
One netizen thought that the essence of what makes Glee a phenomenal success will be lost by casting the new Billboard Chart topper in the series. " Ryan Murphy is losing the focus of what made the show great ... [that is] the development of the characters...I’m worried RM’s letting this stunt casting and song tributes determine the story/character development rather than the other way around," a Glee fan posted.
Charice may have to work hard to prove she is also an actress. Nevertheless, there will be hordes of new Pinoy Glee fans once the singer appears in her first episode.

Finally, John Lloyd Cruz has bared the real score between him and young actress Shaina Magdayao. "Yes, it's us," he revealed in his birthday interview with The Buzz.
In the same interview which aired Sunday, he admitted that he and Ruffa Gutierrez were also an item. "It was a very special relationship, " he described.
His admission of the truth about him and Shaina was spontaneous and not planned. He claimed he did not meet with Boy Abunda with the intention of divulging their relationship. "Hindi ako dumating dito na alam ko ang gagawin ko. Hindi ako pumasok dito na alam ko sasabihin ko (I did not come here knowing what I would do. I did not go [in this room] knowing what I was going to say)," he said.
Shaina was not aware that right that minute, John Lloyd decided to announce to all and sundry that they are more than just friends. This last-minute decision to spill the beans was done in defense of the young actress, who has become a target for controversies as John Lloyd was earlier tight-lipped about their real score. "Hindi na ako tatahimik at hahayaan na patuloy na huhusgahan ang pangalan niya ng mga nag-iimbento na tao about me or her (I will no longer keep quiet and let people who make stories about us continue to make harsh judgements), " he said.
Vina Morales, Shaina's elder sister, gave the thumbs-up on John Lloyd's move, especially since the actor is known to be elusive when asked about his previous girlfriends. "I'm happy for both of them," Vina said.
In Shaina's Facebook page, "Shainatics" lauded the multi-awarded actor for the interview. "You're the man!," they said. In the actor's Facebook page, netizens cheered John Lloyd's interview. "You gained my respect after you admitted your relationship with Shaina. We are proud of you," another fan wrote.
A happy birthday it is indeed for John Lloyd!

Krista Ranillo did not name names, but the public suspected she was referring to boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.
"Yes, it's over," she admitted to Ricky Lo of Philippine Star. While she did not elaborate what exactly is over, reading between the lines would show that she may have been referring to the affair she purportedly had with the married boxer.
But in an interview with TV Patrol, Krista explained that she was referring to the web of intrigues laid upon her. " I can say that I've moved on," she clarified.
She has no plans to go back to showbiz right now, as she is busy managing a garment business she co-owns with cousin, David Tupaz. And no, the capital is not from her Wapakman leading man whose "friendship" had made her the subject of nasty talk. The business is, in fact, put up with Krista and David's hard-earned money.
And she is in love, this time with someone who is free to love AND marry her. "Kababata ko siya. Hindi pa ako artista kilala ko na siya, dito sa States (He is my childhood friend. I knew him when I was not yet an actress, here in the States)," she revealed.
The stormy episode may have left her knocked out, but Krista decided not to let it get the best of her. "Time passes...Never stop believing in yourself... Have faith in God," were a few of the lessons she learned.
Oh yes, it is definitely over.
