After a week of reigning on the weekly Ultimate Music Countdown, "Sino Nga Ba Siya" suddenly dropped way down, overcome by the newcomers vying for a special space. Scroll down to see these new entries and know who grabbed the number one spot.
10. Porque by Maldita
If you think Maldita is some sort of Spanish-speaking foreign alternative pop rock group because of their song's title, perhaps you'd be delighted to know that "Porque" is actually from a homegrown Zamboanga-based band. A song in a delightful mix of Tagalog and Chavacano (a local pidgin dialect based on Spanish), "Porque" talks about love and regret.
"Porque" is continuously gaining popularity, even among Latino YouTube users. Thus, Maldita was also able to nudge Linkin Park out of the weekly countdown.

9. God Gave Me You by Bryan White; Sino Nga Ba Siya by Sarah Geronimo
Coming all the way from Lawton, Oklahoma is country singer Bryan White, with his song "God Gave Me You" debuting in the ninth spot. Even if iTunes critics say that the 37-year-old has a voice that is a little "thin and uncharismatic," "God Gave Me You" proved appealing enough for Filipino music listeners.
Sarah Geronimo's "Sino Nga Ba Siya," now on its fifth week in the countdown, meanwhile, unexpectedly dived to the ninth spot. It held the number one spot just last week.

8. High High by GD and TOP; Marry Me by Train
Pundits and social scientists alike have said that while some countries export products, Korea (South Korea, that is) exports culture. Korean pop music is now one of the most pervasive on the radio, and that "High High" by GDragon (GD) and TOP is now number eight in the UMC is an indicator of their country's cultural influence on the Philippines.
"High High" is said to be one of the duo's best songs in their album of the same title. GD and TOP come from an immensely popular (at least for Koreans and K-pop fans) five-member pop group named Big Bang.
Tied with "High High" for number eight is Train's "Marry Me," which made it to the top three in the previous countdown. Meanwhile, Dev's "Bass Down Low," which debuted in this spot last week, is missing from this week's chart-toppers.

7. Back to December by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift's "Back to December" returned to the seventh spot, a place it occupied some three weeks ago. It's actually hard to guess whether "Back to December" will be kicked out of the countdown again by the continued arrival of newcomers, or remain strong to appear for its sixth week in the list.

6. What the Hell by Avril Lavigne
Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne's "What the Hell" went down some two notches from its former spot at number four. "What the Hell" serves as the lead single for Lavigne's fourth studio album, titled Goodbye, Lullaby. Although some critics expect that "What the Hell" could turn into another chart disaster for Lavigne, others remarked it is "instantly appealing" and "easy to sing."

5. Born this Way by Lady Gaga
It would also be safe to say that Lady Gaga's newest chart-topping single is a feel-good song that reminds people that everyone, in fact, can be a superstar. And of course everyone knows how the Filipino-Canadian young lady Maria Aragon got the hearts of millions around the world (and Gaga herself) after posting her piano cover of "Born This Way" just days after Gaga released the song last February 11. "Born This Way" debuts at number five.

4. Walang Natira by Gloc9 feat. Sheng Belmonte
Gloc9 and Sheng Belmonte's "Walang Natira" dropped to the fourth spot after reaching the second spot last week. The song, which talks about Filipinos working abroad, is included in Gloc9's nationalistic fifth album, Talumpati.

3. Marry You by Bruno Mars; Price Tag by Jessie J feat. B.o.B.
Every day is Valentine's Day for Filipinos, it seems, with the second marriage-themed song in our countdown landing at number three.
Bruno Mars' song "Marry You" from his album Doo Wops and Hooligans is in the number three spot this week, tying with "Price Tag" by Jessie J, featuring B.o.B.
Mars has a penchant for churning out certifiable hits, with his more serious-sounding "Grenade" and LSS-inducing "Just the Way You Are" also gracing previous editions of this countdown.
British singer and songwriter Jessica Ellen Cornish (better known as Jessie J), hailed by the AOL Music as having the combined "vocal prowess of Beyonce, the genre-hopping sounds of Gwen Stefani, and the feisty attitude of P!nk," was able to stick her "Price Tag" on the number three spot. The song debuted in the tenth spot last week.

2. ***in' Perfect by P!nk
Maybe it would have been some sort of perfect if P!nk was not able to miss the number one spot for her "***in' Perfect", but it wasn't too bad at all for it had debuted just last week in the fifth place.
A blog from unrealityshout.com noticed that there is a trend these days for artists to release songs talking about the accept-and-be-proud-of-who-you-are concept. P!nk's "***in' Perfect" is lined with Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are," Lady GaGa's "Born This Way," Katy Perry's "Firework," and Ke$ha's "We R Who We R,"

1. Hold It Against Me by Britney Spears
Jumping six notches in the countdown is superstar Britney Spear's "Hold It Against Me," which was able to grab the number one spot for this week after last week's debut. However, it's up to radio listeners to decide if "Hold It Against Me" will reign on the charts for as long as her other smash hits did.

NOTE: This countdown would be much more difficult to make if not for the devotion of the posters in this PinoyExchange thread. The UMC is a countdown based on different stations' countdowns -- a point system is used for each song, and the top songs appear in this list. Image of Britney Spears is from a 2009 concert;
