The 500M-strong Facebook nation

Facebook is the dominant and largest social networking site in the world. It ranks behind Google in Alexa rankings, and recently announced that they have reached 500 million users -- more than the total population of the United States, and five times as many Filipinos there are in the world.

According to CNN Money, 70 percent of Facebook users live outside the United States. There are at least 14 million Facebook users in the Philippines and roughly 9 million login daily. The site is the first in the Philippines in terms of traffic, living up to creator Mark Zuckerberg's statement that his creation is "a worldwide movement."
