Wellness is the new beauty.

This is the guiding principle of The Center for Wellness and Aesthetics at The Medical City (TMC).  It opened its doors in January 2009 and is one of the flagship programs of TMC. The Center offers a wide range of health care and wellness programs that provide a personalized approach to each client. Recognizing that age factor dictates different levels of lifestyle, the Center houses three clinics that address the needs of adolescents, adults and geriatrics.  It’s a one-stop shop for all age groups.

To set the right ambience, the Center’s 2,400-square meter area is elegantly designed to give clients a homey and welcoming atmosphere. With high ceilings and large windows that allow natural light, it’s like stepping into the lobby of a luxury hotel.

Being at the forefront of health and wellness, the Center offers services ranging from Weight Management (including Bariatric Surgery), Fitness and Nutrition to reconstructive surgery such as Aesthetic Dentistry, Aesthetic Surgery, and Aesthetic Dermatology.

Aesthetic Medicine

In this day and age where perfection is just a slice away, Aesthetic Medicine, more commonly known as cosmetic surgery, continues to generate a lot of interest even among average people. The prospects of firm abs, wrinkle-free skin and weight loss can give any person a boost of self-confidence which can be considered to promote wellness.  For people who would want to explore these types of services, TMC’s Center for Wellness and Aesthetics encourages pro-active involvement and patient partnership in order to provide a more holistic approach in achieving their personal health goals and over-all well being.

With the state-of-the-art facilities and top-notch medical doctors, you are assured that you are getting unparalleled level of service.  Their team of doctors are fully-trained, fully-qualified, and board-certified plastic surgeons, who are members of the elite Philippine Association of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetics Surgeons (PAPRAS). As we hear about substandard cosmetic jobs, you need to be certain that you are being handled by qualified professionals.

Convenience and luxury

The Center acknowledges the demanding schedule of their clients; because of this it houses its own laboratory, radiology and diagnostic equipments like stress test, ultra-sound and X-ray machines. Their clients spend less time queuing up and are ensured of quick delivery of results. In addition, the Center provides hotel-like rooms for clients who value their privacy.

Just recently, TMC opened the SPA. This facility is operated by an outsourced service provider based in Cebu. While waiting for your test results, you have the option of pampering yourself with that much needed massage. Their services include Philippine Hilot Massage, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Indonesian Deep Tissue Massage, Oriental Foot Massage, Aromatherapy, Manicure and Pedicure.

International Accreditation

The Medical City is among the three facilities in the Philippines accredited by the Joint Commission International , the world’s most prestigious accrediting body for international health care organizations.

It is their aim to “provide a full range of services that benefit both mind and body for a truly holistic wellness experience”, according to Dr. Rolando Balburias, Medical Director of the Center for Wellness and Aesthetics.  According to him, beauty is more than just good looks; it’s good health.

The Center for Wellness and Aesthetics is located on the 6th floor of the Podium Building of The Medical City, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City. It's great how some medical facilities are incorporating comfort and luxury into their setting... for a price of course. :)

This is one of the preferred activities in the 2009 Investments Priorities Plan (IPP), which can be registered with the Board of Investments (BOI) under the category of Medical Tourism. This facility, in fact, is registered with the BOI and can avail of Income Tax Holiday incentives among others.....
