United Colors of Benetton, known for their tradition of diversity, has now launched a collection of four new fragrances that was inspired by the iconic colors and wool stitches that are symbols of their brand.  Like color, UCB believes that fragrance is a universal language that speaks to all people from different walks of life, evoking a feeling, inspiration, presence, and a myriad of images that are shared globally.

An event was held last July 22 at 4:00 p.m. at the fragrances area on the ground floor of SM Makati Department Store to introduce the collection.   Each bottle retails for P1350 for 100ml.  From July to August, UCB offers a 10 percent discount for every bottle bought. They are available in SM branches nationwide.

The fragrances are named after the colors in Italian, a tribute to the brand’s origins as it was founded in Italy.

Benetton Rosso

This is a fragrance for women, inspired by the color red.  Written on each of the boxes where the bottles of scents are kept are some of the colors’ experiential associations and feelings.  In the case of Benetton Rosso, they are words such as sensuality, power, heat, courage, war, blood, flames, and the countries Japan and India.  UCB envisions the woman who wears this to be sexy, lively and warm.

The scent is made from a lush combination of fruit notes—mandarin, citron, and passion fruit.  Its floral heart composition is that of peony, syringa, and the very feminine sampaguita.  Its dry-down are soft notes of patchouli heart and storax, finishing with a mild vanilla.

Benetton Giallo

This is another fragrance for women, but this time inspired by the color yellow.  This scent associates yellow with words like Saturn, sunflower, electricity, lemonade, canary and enthusiasm.  Vibrant, like the hue, UCB envisions the woman who wears this to be sparkling and radiant.

Benetton Giallo containts top notes of water fruit, red fruit and anis with a crisp hint of spearmint.  Its floral heart blends lotus, rose and the powdery notes of violet and balanced by a touch of peach.  The dry-down is a harmony of tonka bean, vanilla and musks, underscored by white woods.

Benetton Verde

This particular scent was inspired by the color green, a fragrance for men characterized by UCB as energetic, natural and strong.  The Verde Man is associated with the words such as mint, Ireland, youth, growth, envy, forest and knowledge.

The top notes of this fragrance consist of tangy grapefruit, providing a contrast with cardamom and melon.  Its floral heart is a blend of green violet leaves, geranium and nutmeg.  The warm base notes are a fusion of cedarwood, gaiac and benzoin.

Benetton Blu

Inspired by the color blue, Benetton Blu is associated with words such as lagoon, healing, calmness, unity, loyalty, earth, cold and freedom.  UCB describes the fragrance and the man who wears it as fresh, airy and infinite.  The top notes combine sparkly lemon and soothing lavender.  Its heart is a masculine blend of basil with rosemary oil and sage.  The dry-down is white cedarwood with an intense fusion of patchouli and cocoa bean.
