The story begins with footage from Cory Aquino's funeral, accompanied by Jose Mari Chan's “I Have Fallen in Love With the Same Woman Three Times.” Actors playing Cory's children are reminiscing in the Aquino house, while Kris Aquino begins telling the story of her parents.

The story begins in the summer of 1950. At a party, Ninoy is relating his hardships as a reporter for the Manila Times. He meets Cory for the first time in a long while, and asks her for a dance. Cory talks about her experiences while living and studying in New York. Ninoy admits his admiration for Cory very quickly, but is turned down quickly as well.

Back in New York, Cory recalls her experience of meeting Ninoy, and receives a letter from him. The letter is read while Ninoy is shown typing it. At the Times, Ninoy volunteers to go to Korea to report on the war, and is shocked by what he witnesses there. Upon returning, he is congratulated for being a hero. He writes Cory on the occasion of her debut, telling her about his fears, about facing those fears, and of his decision to return to Korea, thus missing the occasion. Cory reads the letter and is saddened.

Cory decides to return home for good in order to study law, and meets Ninoy again, fresh from the war. Ninoy visits Cory at her home, where he ends up playing mah-jong with the girl's family. The romance continues. Cory gets into a car accident during a trip with Ninoy to Baguio. At the hospital, Ninoy promises to take responsibility for the accident. In Baguio, Ninoy apologizes for the accident, and announces his plans to marry Cory. Cory's parents disapprove of the marriage because they think it would put their daughter in harm's way, but Cory insists. On October 11, 1954, the two are married.

The couple move into the Aquino house in Concepcion, Tarlac, where Ninoy tells her that he will run for town mayor. After giving birth to Ballsy, Cory joins her husband on his first campaign forays. Ninoy becomes mayor of Concepcion, but suffers a minor controversy over his age. He asks Cory to take care of raising the children, while he focuses on his political life. He is eventually ousted from the post of mayor after losing in the Supreme Court.

Cory gives birth to Noynoy during a temporary lull from politics, but this lull ends when Ninoy decides to run for vice-governor. A montage of Ninoy's rise in politics is then shown while Ballsy Aquino narrates the events that happen. Ninoy becomes a Senator, and receives death threats for opposing the Marcos regime. He continues to denounce the administration in the Senate. Ninoy is arrested as martial law is declared in 1972. Cory learns of the arrest, and the children are taken into hiding before their house is raided. The episode ends with them fleeing, praying the rosary.

(A)H1N1 Pandemic

Influenza A (H1N1) is a highly infectious disease caused by a virus which mutated out of four different strains of the influenza A virus found in pigs, human and birds. The outbreak began in Mexico in April 2009, spreading across the Americas and Asia in a matter of months. Due to its unprecedented spread across the globe, the H1N1 outbreak was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization in June 2009. Although most who contract the disease recover immediately, doctors have warned that the virus strain may still evolve into a more virulent form, causing wide-scale fatalities as in the case of the Spanish flu in 1918, or the Hong Kong flu in 1968. The first case of H1N1 in the Philippines was on May 18, 2009. By June, the country reported its first H1N1 fatality. Despite efforts by the Department of Health to slow the spread of the disease, the infected in the Philippines now number in the thousands. Although most recover without complications, the DOH has projected that up to a quarter of the country's 90 million people might become infected. Read more at WikiPilipinas
