Wanna be part of our pool of writers?? Here's how! POC Writing Guidelines 1. Articles should be not less than 300 words, or as otherwise indicated in instructions. Article assignments will be given out periodically by the POC editors. 2. The underlying principle of POC is aggregation. At least 3 or more different sources should be cited, with the objective of showing different views. The more sources, the better. 3. POC articles are written as news stories or features. In-depth POC articles usually follow this pattern: Background facts, positive views as shown by quotes, negative views as shown by quotes, ended by a witty question or summation. Try to present all sides of the issue. For examples, see "Shariff Kabunsuan not a province – SC" and "Who believes in the SONA?". 4. Include links to sources for articles, either by embedding the link in the document or by pasting the link, enclosed in parenthesis, after the word or phrase to be linked. 5. POC articles are licensed under Creative Commons Philippines License BY-NC-SA 3.0. Articles should be accompanied with photographs which are either in the public domain or licensed under GFDL or Creative Commons. If you own the photos you are submitting, it will be licensed also under Creative Commons. Please do not submit copyrighted documents or photographs, and please credit photographs properly. Articles will be published under the writer’s byline. POC Submission and Payment Guidelines 1. Aspiring POC writers should submit resumes to the POC office at 1253 G. Araneta Ave., Quezon City, or through e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , and should sign a contract agreeing to the terms and conditions of submission and payment. Assignments will be given out after the contract has been signed. 2. Writers should be registered users of Philippine Online Chronicles (POC), using their bylines. Articles should be uploaded to Philippine Online Chronicles together with their corresponding photographs. 3. All photograph submission must be uploaded to our Photo Gallery under your desired categories. Description or caption and name of Photographers are required. |
