10. Paano na Kaya – Bugoy Drilon (Points: 15) Bugoy Drilon's “Paano na Kaya” kicks off this week's edition of the Ultimate Music countdown. “Paano na Kaya,” composed by Ryan Cayabyab, is the first single off the Pinoy Dream Academy scholar's first album and is a tender love song about someone who doesn't want to ruin a good friendship with admissions of love. Admit it, quite a common problem, eh?
9. Love Lockdown – Kanye West (Points: 19) According to the Wikipedia article on this song, its music video seems to depict extraterrestrial beings ornamented with drawings that resemble the Nazca Lines. “Love Lockdown” was at the ninth spot on the Countdown for two weeks in November, then disappeared, only to surface this week. Hmm. Not abducted by aliens, we assume. “Lockdown” is from Kanye West's new album 808s & Heartbreak, which has been described as “emotional stock taking” by Guardian.
8. Mrs. Officer – Lil' Wayne ft. Bobby Valentino (Points: 23) Climbing up one spot from last week's number nine is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr's fourth single from his The Carter III album. Lil' Wayne's “devilish croak” has a “jazzy bass line to work with” for “Mrs. Officer”, which is his fourth top ten single for this album on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
7. Just Stand Up! - Artists Stand Up to Cancer (Points: 25) Although it has never risen any higher than the third spot, Just Stand Up! has been on the Ultimate Countdown for eleven weeks, dropping two spots lower this week to stand at number seven. According to its website, “Stand Up To Cancer is more than a rallying cry. It is a galvanizing force created to urgently move cancer research forward.” Well, with such a song...
6. Your Universe – Rico Blanco (Points: 27) Rico Blanco's universe is still clinging to the sixth spot this week, after seven weeks on the Countdown. Blogger Rhojmusic says of this song on Multiply that despite its simplicity, the song really shines above the rest. For the sake of all the Rico Blanco stars out there, let's hope the shine will last for a good long while yet.
5. I Hate This Part – Pussycat Dolls (Points: 29) What does dancing in the rain have to do with saying goodbye? According to MTV Buzz, you have to check out this “breakup anthem” by the Pussycat Dolls to find out. “I Hate This Part” debuts this week on the Countdown at number five.
4. Womanizer – Britney Spears (Points: 35) For her 27th birthday, Britney performed this song on “Good Morning America” on 2 December 2008. Wow, that must really have been a good morning for Britney fans. This week, however, she slips two places to number four at seven weeks on the Countdown.
3. If I Were A Boy – Beyonce (Points: 44) From the title of this song, many men would be thankful that her wish wasn't fulfilled. In this song, though, Beyonce voices what many women wish for: more understanding and consideration in a relationship. On its fifth week in the Countdown, If I Were A Boy loses its hold on the top spot and drops two notches to number three.
2. Decode – Paramore (Points: 46) Climbing another notch up the chart is Paramore's “Decode”, which is in the “Twilight” soundtrack. Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams says that "(t)he song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward... Bella is the only mind Edward can't read, and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It's one added tension that makes the story even better."
1. Mad – Ne-Yo (Points: 62) Ne-Yo, Ne-Yo, Ne-Yo. What ever is there for this R&B crooner (or his girlfriend) to get “Mad” about? In just three weeks, he's scaled the Ultimate Music Countdown, bounding from a debut at #9 to a follow-up performance at #4, and now he's got the top spot all by himself by a whoppingly convincing margin. That's just how “Mad” people are about this contrite song about healing rifts between yourself and a loved one... for this week's countdown, anyway.

'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' is really a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books, and writing it has been the most wonderful way to say goodbye to a world I have loved and lived in for 17 years.
