E-mailSenator Francis Escudero formally announced his decision not to run in the 2010 Presidential Elections earlier this morning at the Club Filipino on San Juan.
“Hindi pa ito ang tamang panahon para sa akin na tumakbo (this is not the proper time for me to run),” the young senator simply announced.
Escudero also denied claims he is going to jump ship to the administration party.
He also declined to reveal which candidate he will support in next year’s election.
In a GMA-7 interview, Escudero said that this elections is "Noynoy's time" and that it is not his "time to challenge the frontrunners."
"My dream is to be President, but, unlike other presidentiables, I'll not achieve it at all cost," Escudero said in Filipino.
