House approves Resolution 1109


Working overtime on June 2, Tuesday, the
House of Representatives decided to approve House Resoultion 1109 before midnight. 

"The Ayes were overwhelmingly louder than the Nays," ABS-CBNnews.com reported.

Constituent assembly proponents "pledged" that the 2010 elections will push through, and that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's term will not be extended. Cavite representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr., one of the bill's sponsors, was asked if the 2010 elections could be postponed by the con-ass. "Everything is possible. It depends upon the wisdom of the constituent assembly," he answered.
