Working overtime on June 2, Tuesday, the House of Representatives decided to approve House Resoultion 1109 before midnight.
"The Ayes were overwhelmingly louder than the Nays," ABS-CBNnews.com reported.
Constituent assembly proponents "pledged" that the 2010 elections will push through, and that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's term will not be extended. Cavite representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr., one of the bill's sponsors, was asked if the 2010 elections could be postponed by the con-ass. "Everything is possible. It depends upon the wisdom of the constituent assembly," he answered.
