Biggest floating bookstore in the world to visit Manila

The world's largest floating bookstore will dock at Manila's South Harbor starting next week, following its one month stay in Cebu.

MV Logos Hope, which replaced the MV Doulos as the floating bookstore of GBA Ships fleet, offers a “greater space for visitors and more comfortable browsing in the air conditioned book fair and café area,” the Philippine Star reported.

Sun Star says that the ship carries half a million books with thousands of titles, covering a wide variety of topics including literature, science, music, technology, and others. They also offer a wide array of children's books available at affordable prices.

The floating bookstore's predecessor famously visited several ports in the country before it retired last year.

MV Logos Hope will open to the public at Pier 15, Berth 4 of the South Harbor from Feb. 17 to March 13. Its operating hours are from 10 am to 9:30 pm, Tuesdays through Saturday; and from 1 pm to 9:30 pm on Sundays. The ship will be closed on Mondays.

Tickets cost P20, but children under 12 are allowed for free provided that they are accompanied by an adult.
