The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) yesterday confirmed that portions of Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard would be closed on 11–13 February due to continued filming of The Bourne Legacy.
In an extended tweet, the MMDA further noted that the stretch between G. Araneta and Pureza Street will also be closed to traffic, and suggested alternate routes to take.
The same portion of road was also closed this weekend, causing heavy traffic. The lack of passersby aggravated vendors, who complained that their businesses were affected.
Previous Bourne shoot locations include Manila, where several streets were cleaned and houses were renovated; Ninoy International Airport Terminal 3; and, most recently, near Pasay Rotonda, which also caused heavy traffic and irritated uninformed motorists.
In Pasay, three extras for the movie were given tickets by the MMDA for “illegal parking”.
The filming is expected to boost tourism and generate jobs, with an estimated 15,000 extras needed for the movie.
