Paranaque City Police have set up tight security measures for the preliminary investigation of two suspects in the murder of actor Ramgen Revilla.
According to Parañaque police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran, the Special Weapons and Tactics teams will secure the two slay suspects, Michael Cruz Altea and Roy Francis Tolisora for this afternoon's proceedings.
The probe did not push through as originally scheduled yesterday due to the absence of both suspects’ lawyers, reported radio dzBB’s Sam Nielsen.
Altea and Tolisora will be handcuffed when they will be taken to the city prosecutor’s office Police reiterated that the suspects will not get any special treatment during the preliminary investigation.
The police are also making tighter security arrangements for the third suspect, Ramon Joseph (RJ), Ramgen’s 8-year-old brother, who will be brought to court on November 16. The said suspect waived his right to a preliminary investigation and is to be arraigned before Judge Fortunito Madrona.
Altea, Tolisora and RJ are currently detained at the Parañaque City Jail. All three are facing charges of murder and frustrated murder.
Ramona Bautista, sister of Ramgen and RJ,who has also been implicated in the murder, reportedly left the country Friday night. She was supposedly headed for Istanbul, Turkey where her husband resides.
GMA News reports that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), together with Philippine Center for Transnational Crime (PCTC) and the International Police Organization (INTERPOL), is currently working on verifying Ramona's whereabouts, as well as her immigration status in Turkey. At the time of her departure, no formal charges had been filed against her.
New witness
A new witness has also emerged to corroborate previous reports that RJ and Ramona had ordered their brother's killing.
According to Lloyd “Lim” Comeda, he was approached with an offer to kill Ramgen, but refused.
“The witness’ statement matches the initial testimony of our other witnesses,” said Chief Inspector Ferjen Torred, head of the Parañaque police intelligence unit. “He mentioned the names of the primary suspects who were involved in the plot and heard about the plan itself.”
