FHM lists 25 'Sexiest Women of the Decade'

In celebration of its first decade in the industry, men's magazine FHM (For Him Only) Philippines has come up with the list of the top 25 "Sexiest Women of the Decade" – a rundown of FHM's sexiest women from 1990 to 2010.

FHM's picks for the top 25 are featured in a special collectors' edition – reportedly its thickest offering ever-- with Starstruck darling Iwa Moto and relative newcomer Bangs Garcia on the gatefold cover.

The FHM's top 25 Sexiest Women of the Decade include (with no particular ranking):

Cristine Reyes
Angel Locsin
Assunta De Rossi
Sunshine Cruz
Katrina Halili
Ehra Madrigal
Patricia Javier
Cindy Kurleto
Viva Hot Babes (Asia Agcaoili, Katya Santos & Maui Taylor)
Diana Zubiri
Francine Prieto
Rufa Mae Quinto
Iwa Moto
Valerie Concepcion
Bianca King
Aubrey Miles
Jackie Rice
Maureen Larrazabal
Dina Bonnevie
Eula Valdez
Jean Garcia
Angelica Panganiban
Bangs Garcia
Joyce Jimenez
Cristina Garcia

Fans of GMA's primetime drama queen Marian Rivera were surprised that she was not in the list when she was even hailed by the magazine as the Philippine's sexiest in 2008. However, FHM was quick to defend their picks.

“The list includes only the women who have posed on the cover of FHM, and we consider many things: their rankings in the annual 100 sexiest list, the inputs of our readers, the daily comments uploaded on FHM.com.ph, and their impact on the sales and circulation of the magazine,” explained FHM Editor-in-Chief Allan Madrillejos of the selection process.

Rivera has never posed for FHM, although she won the readers' votes for the magazine's sexiest woman poll in 2008.

"The glory that was, is and will be..."

Madrillejos credited their magazine's success to the women who agreed to pose daringly on its glossy covers for the past 10 years, “Even if we didn't put it to a vote, hindi naman kami tatagal ng 10 years kung hindi namin napupulsuhan kung sino ang magugustuhan ng readers. (We would not be in the business for 10 years if we can't tell who our readers would love to see on our pages) These 25 women best represent the glory that was, is and will always be FHM.”

GMA7 talents dominated the list over those of rival network ABS-CBN. Among the Kapuso roster of stars that made it to the highly-coveted list are: television villainesses Assunta de Rossi and Bianca King; comedienne Ruffa Mae Quinto; Starstruck alumni Katrina Halili, Cristine Reyes (now a contract star of ABS) Iwa Moto and Jackie Rice; and sexy character actresses Ehra Madrigal, Francine Prieto, and Maureen Larrazabal.

The Kapamilya camp is represented by child-star-turned-sex-siren Angelica Panganiban, Angel Locsin, sexy TV host Valerie Concepcion, and TV novice Bangs Garcia.

Seasoned actresses Dina Bonnevie, 49; Eula Valdez, 42; and Jean Garcia, 41, have also made it to the list, proving that older women could still make the cut in the generally perceived "nymphet-oriented” consciousness of the Filipino male.

“The success of FHM is reflective of a shift in Pinoy (slang for Filipino) cultural values... everytime you open an issue of FHM, you are drawn into a timeless world of bikinis, cleavage, cars, beers, gadgets, among others. And it never grows old. It is a world that seems to be eternally 25 years of age,” said Spot.ph resident blogger and pop culture expert Lourd de Veyra.

“Sadly, FHM still doesn't offer gynecological close-ups. But it offers the next best thing, or come to think of it, maybe something infinitely better: celebrity skin,” he added.

FHM's anniversary issue also features a rundown on the "Top Men of the Decade," a list which includes "Comedy King" Dolphy; comic triumvirate Tito, Vic, and Joey; action star Robin Padilla; boxing champ Manny Pacquiao; singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid; and young actor Richard Gutierrez.

The collectors' edition will also look back on all that was hot in pop culture, politics, and sports over the past 10 years.

“2010 will also see the release of other FHM special issues and other surprise events that we're sure readers will enjoy,” Madrillejos announced.

FHM Philippines will hold its 10th anniversary party at the NBC Tent, The Fort, in Taguig City on March 11, 2010, with the unveiling of its picks for the list of the top 25 sexiest women.
