Television network ABS-CBN announced that its morning program 'Showtime' will be replacing its variety show 'Happy, Yipee, Yehey' (HYY) in the network's noontime slot.
Changing the title to “It's Showtime,” ABS-CBN corporate communications head Bong Osorio said in a press statement that mainstays Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Billy Crawford, Karylle, ‘Kuya’ Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta and Vice Ganda will be joined by 'Showtime's' former judges Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang and Coleen Garcia as hosts of the new program.
“Together, they will be bringing a new and more exciting show filled with surprises and engaging segments that will make viewers experience more fun is 'Showtime',” he added.
Osorio likewise thanked the program's viewers “for being with Showtime and its hosts in their journey of bringing joy and hope every morning the past two years.”
The morning show went off-air last Monday prompting viewers to speculate whether it will suffer the same fate as HYY or it will take over the slot of the canceled ABS-CBN show. It turned out it was the latter.
“It's Showtime” will air starting February 6 and will face GMA Network's powerhouse Eat Bulaga show in the noontime ratings game.
