Classes in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) were suspended today due to heavy rains.
The Department of Education (DepEd) suspended classes in pre-school, elementary and high school in public and private schools in the region beginning 12 pm.
Parts of the country is currently experiencing heavy rains due to a low pressure area near Puerto Princesa, Palawan, and the effects of the La Niña phenomenon.
"Northern Luzon and Eastern section of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Palawan and Eastern Visayas which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
