Together with family and friends of poet, songwriter, and cultural worker Ericson Acosta, local artists gathered at the lobbby of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) building in Intramuros to press for his immediate release from detention.

Ericson was arrested by the military last February 13 while he was conducting human rights research in Brgy. Bay-ang, San Jorge, Samar. He is currently detained at the Calbayog sub-provincial jail.
Among those present at the October 14 gathering were film directors Joel Lamangan and Bibeth Orteza, Tanghalang Pilipino Artistic Director Nanding Josef, former head of the Cultural Center of the Philippines visual arts department Karen Flores, human rights organization Karapatan, members of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines, the guitar ensemble of the Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation and classical guitarist Tony Palis, and officials of the NCCA.
